Current Plot Summary

After the successful rescue of Quinn Reynolds and Pedro “The Ram” Ramirez from Rura Penthe, (along with a few other former-prisoners, including toriel the unhinged Haliian) the rescue team met up with the rest of the command crew from the Starbase on the USS Crazyhorse for a training exercise: Commander (Attache) Lily Ventu would take command of a formerly derelict ship (the USS Prospero) and, using artificial weapons, have a fight with the USS Crazyhorse. With her are Lieutenant Commander Cyrus Webb, Lieutenant Commander Quinn Reynolds, Lieutenant Commander Reed, the currently blind Lieutenant Ramirez, and marine diplomat Heath West.

Given a few hours to prepare themselves, they used the time repairing the ship and disturbed a gas giant enough to create a mini-nebula of plasmic gasses to hide the ship in, out of sight and reach of the Crazyhorse crew. In doing so, they seem to have disturbed something within the planet, which sets them alone, in a damaged ship, against an unknown assailant. Efforts are underway to free themselves or contact the Crazyhorse, to let them know that the training game got rather serious rather fast. At least one occupant on the Crazyhorse seems to already know a bit of what’s going on, but getting coherent information out of toriel is unlikely in the best of times.

Meanwhile, back on the Crazyhorse, an impostor crewmember has been recently killed while attempting to murder Ensign Reznov (Who has just transfered off – Bye!), leaving engineering in a bit of an uproar, and the action of a wayward Petty Officer left the ship infested with a strange alien creatures that somehow evade our scans, resembling nothing so much as a couple furry lightning-breathing rapidly-growing dragons.

All did not go according to plan. Working with fake weapons, the crew were unable to mount a defense in time. A tractor beam latched onto the derelict ship and began pulling it deeper into the gas giant, causing further damage to the ship. A shuttle with a distress beacon and several probes were successfully launched before the crew were transported aboard the new ship.

They find themselves in unfamiliar surroundings, in an aquarium of sorts, and breathing strange atmospheric gases that appears to be affecting at least two of the crew in a negative way.

Unable to understand the aliens’ language, the crew attempt a basic form of communication. The aliens respond, but the crew is still unable to understand these strange beings.

As a strange gray gas is piped into the room, a hallway opens up, leading the crew to an unknown destination. The aliens that surround them in some sort of tank that contains a different atmosphere are nothing like they have ever seen.

As the crew prepare for this new adventure, the Prospero emerges from the gas giant. The ship is moments away from its doomed fate, and the Crazyhorse crew, with only enough time to raise their own shields, watch helplessly as it explodes, believing the six crewmembers to be dead.

Missions Update 238512.22

As the crew of Starbase 118 gather in the situation room at the start of a new mission, they receive not one piece of disturbing news, but two. Not only is a deadly virus of epidemic proportions spreading quickly through the Klingon colonies through the Serellen sector, but also, a Klingon operatic troupe is currently in route to the station for the performance of a new, controversial opera. As plans are made to accomodate the surge in people, paparazzi, news crews, business opportunists, as well as the performers and their attendants, Fleet Captain Rocar has a plan up his sleeve.

The offer of aid and medical and scientific assistance to the Klingon colonies was refused. Though Governor Socklock and two Klingon medical doctors will be in attendance for the “not to be missed” Klingon performance, they have been ordered to have no contact with the fleet captain. While many chalk it up to plain old Klingon pride, the captain believes there is more to it. He believes that not only have the governor and the medical doctors seen the effect of the virus, but also that the virus is no natural occurrence.

And so three missions teams are formed. The first is Fleet Captain Rocar’s team and consists of Rocar, Commander Brunsig, Lt. Cmdr. Ventu, Lt. Cmdr. Annestri, and Major Reed. They will be attending the opera, where, if all goes well, an “accidental” meeting, coordinated by Reed and Ventu, between the captain and Governor Socklock and the medical doctors will take place.

Lt. Reynolds team is a special black-ops team consisting of Reynolds, Dr. Orrey, and Lt. Ramirez. They are to meet a contact of Reynolds who has more information about the disease. Great care must be taken, and if they are caught, any knowledge of the mission will be denied by Rocar and the senior staff.

Lt. Commander Sharee’s team will take over mission ops, coordinating the arrival of numerous ships and visitors, keeping chaos from taking over the station, protecting it against a possible bio-chemical attack from the person or persons believed to have engineered the Klingon virus, and providing the extra security all of this will entail. This team consists of Sharee, Lt. Cmdr. Webb, Lt. Cmdr. Geeva, Lt. Rho, and Ensigns Moon and Sheppard.

Lt. Cmdr. Ventu and Major Reed are given another duty as well, to roll out the red carpet properly for the Imperial Klingon Opera. All senior staff will be expected to attend the welcoming ceremony and the feast that will follow.
